A girly girl’s retreat for manis and pedis in the heart of the Arcadia neighborhood.
Our super spa sleuth Carolyn is at it again and this time, her tootsies are in serious need of soothing. Before we would let her step foot back in the office, we sent her off to get her tattered toes in shape. We’re glad to report that she’s back in open-toed shoes again. Here’s what she had to say:
Flip-flopping around in Arizona’s dry climate conditions takes its toll on everyone, even a Spa Girl in training. With tattered tootsies beyond at-home repair, I decided to seek professional help from Sundrops Nail Spot in the hipster Arcadia neighborhood.
Walking into this darling nail boutique felt like entering the ultimate pampering palace. Sundrops combines shabby chic style with Hollywood glam for a sophisticated yet cozy vibe. Decorated to the nines and complete with large flat screen TV, which continually plays classic chick flicks (on mute, of course), I fell in love immediately. I picked out my polish and browsed the racks of flirty MK2K dresses and super-soft Splendid basics.
Shortly thereafter, I was whisked back to the pedicure lounge–a wall-long plush couch with individual sinks, lavish pillows, and personal tables stacked high with a variety of magazines. I grabbed some pillows, the latest issue of Vogue, and got ready for my “Down and Dirty” pedi. My treatment started with a warm foot soak followed by an exfoliating scrub. Next, I was painlessly nipped, filed and smoothed to perfection. My feet were massaged with a hydrating lotion then masked and covered with steamy hot towels. After a few short minutes the towels came off and I was treated to another yummy massage. Lastly, my toes were meticulously coated with polish and a super shiny topcoat. I relaxed for a few minutes and gazed at my perfect pedi until the polish was completely dry.
I left Sundrops feeling fabulously relaxed with miraculously transformed toes (and craving a completely new wardrobe exclusively from their boutique).
