I can’t even count the number of times I’ve hightailed over to Esthetique Paris Spa for the help of owner and aesthetician Anna (pronounced Anya). The bustling salon and separate day spa area serves the affluent community of north Scottsdale and is located in the once prestigious but now sleepy Citadel center. The aesthetics rooms are clean and functional. The Tuscan-style salon is comfortable and the waiting areas serve their purpose. But I could care less about any of that because Anna takes such excellent care of her skincare clients. Having battled her own skin woes when she and her husband Peter — a massage therapist and co-owner — moved to Arizona, she attacks your skin with a vengeance until every pore is clean and then she soothes you into submission with a shoulder, head and foot massages as various masks do their work. She heals your skin. Period. And no matter what I wreck I was when I walked in there, I always leave relaxed and glowing.
Besides Anna, if you want a truly rockin’ pedicure, ask for Amy. Amy is a talented nail technician and massage therapist (no wimpy hand massages here, oh no!) and offers one heck of a reclined pedicure (dare you not to fall asleep during it). Between you and me, Esthetique is a gem but don’t go telling everyone so I can still get my last-minute appointment (like the one I have today!).
P.S., On a follow-up note, if you’re addicted to Shellac manicures (a long-lasting nail technique that falls between gels and regular nail lacquer) like I am, Amy now also offers it and does a great job.
